Nayeli, originally from Jalisco, Mexico, emigrated to the US when she was 20 years old. She got her start in agricultural at Pioneer Hybrid in Woodland, CA, first in a part-time position. Discovering her aptitude for plant breeding research, she was promoted to a full-time member of the research team. Nayeli has worked with both the sunflower and corn group at Pioneer and then with the watermelon and seed health teams at Monsanto, and now strawberries!

Nayeli joined the UC Davis strawberry breeding program in January of 2017 to assist with greenhouse, shade house and nursery activities, and we look forward to the skill and experience she brings.
